Chicago: Festival in the Park
Empower Chicago recently conducted our 2nd annual Festival in the Park outreach. Over 500 people showed up!
Even though the weather was cold and rainy, the outreach was awesome! It didn’t stop God from doing amazing things in the crime-ridden “Back of the Yards” neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago.
The Empower Chicago team was poised and excited to serve food, hand out groceries, provide clothing, give away toys, and most importantly, preach the Gospel to all of the precious families that came!
We are always in awe to know that God will use us to do great things for Him when we are simply willing to be His hands, His feet and His voice to those He loves.
This day would not have been possible if it were not for the 67 volunteers that came out to help us. Our “Empower Team” came all the way from Michigan and Wisconsin and as close as right down the street.
Their heart to serve and to sacrifice means so much to us! We are constantly reminded of how important it is to give Believers the opportunity to do something meaningful and heartfelt as we impact our generation for Jesus.
Our greatest reward that day was seeing people young and old responding to God’s love and receiving Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior! It’s worth every dollar, every minute and every effort it takes to do what we do!
Our goal and determination is to continue empowering communities here in Chicago as we empower pastors, mobilize Christians, preach the Gospel to the lost and fulfill the mission that Jesus gave to His Church.
